Iremnur Tokac is a graduate student in the programme of MediaArchitecture at Bauhaus University-Weimar. She holds a Master’s degree in Informatics, the programme of Architectural Design Computing, from Istanbul Technical University. Her master thesis, “The Roles of Design Representations in Architectural Design Thinking”, focused on unfolding design activity in means of the utilization of various design mediums. She organized and tutored “Architectural Interface Design and Design Methods” workshops for the last two years (January 2016 – January 2017) at Bauhaus University-Weimar. The workshops were integrated to MediaArchitecture graduate design studio and intended to introduce basic concepts of object oriented programming languages, utilization of embedded electronics and micro-controllers in architectural design. Her research interests are design cognition, computation in design, interactive architectural systems, and generative algorithms in architectural design. She is currently working as student software developer in Zalando Tech besides pursuing her second master thesis research about making algorithms in model-making, augmented materials and their implementations to architectural design processes.
